Fishing in Alaska in June 2010

I have always wanted to go on an Alaskan fishing adventure. Our trip in June 2010 was not on a sailboat, but it was an incredible experience just the same.
If you love to eat fish, I highly recommend that everyone experience a fishing lodge in Alaska.
Not only is it a fun adventure, it can be a relaxing way to forget about what’s happening at home.
Obviously your success is dependent upon the fishing skills and local knowledge of your talented fishing guide.
What was the Biggest Fish Caught?
While I would not recommend Salmon Falls Lodge, I would highly recommend our guide Mike Pattison in Ketchican.
He was extremely passionate and knew exactly where to go to find the big “butts” as you can see in our photo.
We caught three 60+ lbs halibut plus some smaller ones, 17-23 pounds. We also caught lots of salmon. That is a lot of fish that we have in our freezers.
I would love to put together a “Girls Only Fishing Trip” in 2012. Mike promised to help us get all a lot of fish and have a great time.
Please send me an email if you would like to join us.
Meanwhile, back to sailing…
I hope you will follow my sailing posts and like my Facebook Page.
Once I complete the licensing requirements, I will be offering sailing lessons through the local sailing schools. I would be honored to have you in one of my classes. Watch for updates!
